KOH SAMUI [THAILAND] + ROMANTIC DINNER ON THE BEACH BY THE SEA!

A few months ago, I was off to Koh Samui with Traveller J. It is an island in Thailand and located near the town of Surat Thani in Surat Thani Province. I was extremely excited about coming to this island as I had heard about the beautiful seaviews and also their sandy beaches- my favourite! This trip was to relax, enjoy the beautiful views and soak up the sun and smell of the sea! So here goes! Links are provided for your convenience as well.

Koh Samui

-Days: 4 days 3 nights
I would suggest staying longer! This was not enough- 4/5 nights would be good!

-Flight: Silk Airways (Singapore)    8.40 am-9.30 am (1 hr 50 mins)
The flight was good, no delays nor any hiccups but it was on a smaller plane. Meals included and all. For other alternatives, there is Bangkok Airways and Airasia. However, the timing for Silk Airways was the best option for me.

-Transport around Ko Samui: Taxi
Another option would be to rent a scooter/bike or rent a car!

-Hotels: 1 night at Intercontinental Samui Baan Taling Ngam Resort (Intercontinental Samui) and 2 nights at Melati Beach Resort and Spa (Melati Resort)

Intercontinental Samui Baan Taling Ngam Resort was gorgeous! Their breathtaking views were fantastic from the lobby, my room as well as from their infitinity pool. We had booked the ocean view rooms, but were upgraded to their One bedroom Panoramic Ocean View Suites as the previous was full! As there was a slight delay, we were provided lunch on the house. The suite was just perfect, beautiful furnishing, amenities, and the best bathroom I have ever seen-a bathtub with panoramic views of the sea. Exactly as per their website. **One thing I have to say is that the sand on the beach of this resort was quite coarse if you do not mind.
Melati Beach Resort and Spa was our next home for 2 nights. It was awesome!! The feeling is more homely, resort style. Rooms were big and comfy! Toilets were big, spacy and clean as well! However, the room that I booked was quite a walk from the lobby to our room, but no fear, there is a buggy system that can bring  you to and fro, just have to give them a buzz. The aircon at this place took awhile to cool down though. Beautiful pool and sandy beaches at this resort.

-Itenary:   Day 1: Set off to Singapore to take the flight to Ko Samui, Arrived, checked in to Intercontinental Samui Baan Taling Ngam Resort. The view was just spectacular!

Our room was unavailable so we decided to explore the hotel, changed into our swimwear and explored and swam in all the pools the hotel had. They had altogether 6 pools, but my favourite was still the main infinity pool. We then had our lunch @ Amber. The most Delicious Thai Food ever!! Everything was so fresh and tasty~
Watermelon juice
Soft Shell Crabs

Thai Salad

Thai Green Chicken Curry

Around 3ish-4pm we checked in our room, then went out to have a walk around, chill by the beach, sip on cold drinks and swam some more. We then went back to the room to enjoy the sunset from our balcony! Beautiful sight!! We showered and got ready for our dinner! It was at Flames- BBQ dinner- As the hotel was quite far away from everything, we decided to have our dinner here!:) Order all u can eat:) YUM! It was fantastic! At the end of our meal we were so full we could hardly move.. There were choices of alll sorts of meats, seafood and vegetables:) Perfect!

Flames-Beach Restaurant and Grill
Now this place is even in the 1000 places to see before you die;);)
Food-Glorious food!

Day 2:

Today we have arranged with Melati Beach Resort and Spa to pick us up for a fee. As actually included in the package was transport to and fro the airport, however as Intercontinental was quite a distance away, we paid a top up charge. In the car, we had cold jasmine scented towels and a bottle of cold water for each of us! We arrived a little early, could not check in  yet, we decided to venture out to walk about! We got the hotel's transport to send us to Bophut's Fisherman's village. We had lunch, and a beer, It was not too bad! then we ventured around the area. There were many little interesting shops that sold clothes,  beach wear, soaps, etc. We bought several clothes and scented soaps!:)
We then caught a cab back to the hotel. No worries about transport, as there were cabs lined up around that area. Went back, and to my surprise Traveller J had arranged a nice massage session for me! The aromatherapy massage at Melati's Spa was just perfect!! The masseuse was so good. Before my session, I was asked to fill out a form where I would like more pressure on and where not too etc..! After the massage I felt that all my back aches were gone!! Soon after, Traveller J was rushing me to get ready as we were to go for dinner! I got ready and we got on the buggy to go to dinner and then Traveller J suddenly covered my eyes and asked me to continue walking! I was excited!! WHY! i wanted to see where we were going! Suddenly I felt sand on my feet.. we must be on the beach! I then stepped on something soft and floaty.. What was it!.. when I could open my eyes finally this was what I was standing on: A heart of flower petals with Traveller J on one knee infront of me with a beautiful ring from Tiffany and co ! Guess what I said!:D...

A romantic dinner on the beach with a seafood meal was prepared for me as well! Beautiful scenery, White sandy beach, awesome dinner, beautiful flowers, Gorgeous ring= Perfect Best Proposal Ever!
Beautiful heartshaped Rose petals!

A Happy Traveller waiting for dinner to be served by the sea!

 Day 3
Had the buffet breakfast again, was so good! Today we were thinking of joining the tour activities organised by Melati-This can be found on their website. We thought of going for the Snorkeling day tour to Ko Tao and Ko Nangyuan, however I kind of chickened out in the end, have a thing for fishes sweeping across me!:S But i regretted it later on! So we decided to just swim in the beautiful pool at Melati, had some fries and happy hour cocktails at the bar pool! Then proceeded to the beach for some Kayaking-Kayas which were provided by the hotel! Yay! We saw a man who kayaked by himself so far out we thought he wasn't coming back or might have kayaked to another island-haha!! But after an hour or so we saw him appeared again all good! This has got to be the most relaxed trip ever!
Soon it was dinner time! We went to the their Kan Sak Thong Restaurant and ordered few dishes to share! Although the restaurant was pretty humid, as there were only fans, the food was  good- esp the Pomfret fish! The restaurant was preety humid tho!

Day 4
Dreads- It was Time to fly back to Singapore.. As included in our booking, Melati arranged to bring us to the airport for our flight.. The airport had a few shops along the way, and I decided to buy some souveniers! I loved how everything was Jasmine scented!

GOOD BYE KO SAMUI!! See You soon hopefully!
