Perth is a beautiful place, where I called my 2nd home for 3 years where I did my undergrad at! It's a really peaceful and beautiful country with wonderful scenery, clear blue skies and wide beaches with soft sand! It's truly a place where you can relax and appreciate the beautiful nature and little things that life has to offer! It's also a country where road trips are common and loved by everyone- short or long ones! Even after I have graduated, I go back once in awhile to have awesome food, beautiful beaches, relax and catch up with wonderful friends! [Note: However, I have heard people say its quiet and boring* haha , I beg to differ.. But, this will not be the place for you if you enjoy the night life and buzzling city life.]

-Transport around Perth: Drive!(Rent a car) or buses, trains
There are car rentals at the airport, so book online from one of the car rentals (I suggest Hertz) and get a car straight from the airport, you are able to drop it off at the airport when you're back as well.

-Holidays homes/aparments (Stayz) - Search for accommodation that suit your style and budget at Stayz. I stayed twice before using this website and so far it turned out good! Ensure the reviews are good and ensure the place is actually valid!
Itinerary:
Day 1-2: Shopping ( I advise just the first 3 will be adequate)
i. Perth City Shopping (Link)
ii. Claremont area shopping (Link)
iii. Garden City Shopping Centre (Link)
iv. Carousel Shopping Centre ( Link)
Day 3: Beaches / Parks
Spend a day or two at a beautiful beach to relax, swim, surf. Bring some towels/umbrellas and don't forget to apply your sunscreen as the UV rays are pretty strong in Australia! You could choose from Cottesloe Beach, Scarborough Beach and many others, however my all time favourite is Cottesloe beach. Remember to watch out for the sharks though!- Australia has been well known to have some shark attacks..
Kings Park & Botanic Gardens (Link) is another wonderful place to chillax under the bright blue skies. Come for a date/ stroll or have a barbeque/ picnic, chill, enjoy the beautiful scenery! There are also walking trails in the park. Choose to have your meals at really delicious restaurants that I'll post below!
Araluen Botanic Park
Add: 362 Croyden Road, Roleystone, WA 6111
Araluen Botanic Park is a about an 45 mins-1 hour drive away from Perth and it's filled with amazingly beautiful bloom of flowers and other plants! I absolutely love the tulips, especially if its in the right season-probably Spring! Here's the link for the prices!Around $10 for an adult and $5 for a child (Entrance fee for Araluen Botanic Park) It's a nice place to come with your family or if you're on a date with your loved ones!:D When i came we took plenty loads of pictures and brought some food for a picnic! I just love picnics!
Day 4: Fremantle / Sorrento Quay
Fremantle is a port city within Western Australia and is around 25 minutes drive from the city center. It's best to come here on a weekend as the markets are open! I usually have an awesome fresh seafood lunch before taking a nice stroll among the shops. The oysters are delicious and so fresh! Two famous seafood places are Kailis Seafood and Ciccerellos. There are really quite alot of seagulls there! They swoop at your food once your done or sometimes hang around you when you're there too! Watch out that no birds poop on you!;) Or you could choose to sit indoors by the windows!
Remember to try the honey cake at the markets if you do go! It's such a delicate and sweet cake which always leaves you wanting for more! Make sure to try a slice!:)
Sorrento Quay (Link)
Sorrento Quay is at Hillarys Boat Harbour and its another place to relax by the waters, buy a boat (or two) ;), eat and enjoy the waters and peacefulness of this place. The restaurants here can be found mostly in Perth city, however, if you do have spare time you could drop by here. Have their St Churos (Link) and Little creatures pizza (Link) which is pretty famous in Perth.
The Aquarium of Western Australia (AQWA) can also be found near Hillarys Boat Harbour as well. If you have kids, or are a kid at heart or love to see marine life, do drop by! Prices are $29- adult, $21- concession, $17- child and FOC for children below the age of 4.
Day 5: Rockingham / Rotness Island
Rockingham (Link) is another small city within Western Australia. Its around 45 minutes from the city centre. You can drive there or take a train! If you are taking the train, take the Mandurah train line and exit at Rockingham station It's another nice relaxing place for a day trip.
During my university days, we woke up really early to take the train on one of the semester breaks! It was such fun as I remeber! There are quite a few things you can do here- kayak, adventure eating, swimming with the dolphins, a few tours to take and etc! However, I'm not exactly the extreme outdoorsy nor adventurous kind, I stuck with eating good food and going on a dolphin, penguin and sea lion cruise! Such Fun!!!! You'll get to see them up-close!
Rottnest Island
Here's another place that would be lovely for a short road trip -Rottnest Island! It's and island located west of Fremantle and it's truly an awesome place for a short island getaway/vay-cay in a sunny and beautiful atmosphere! You can get to the island by Ferry, Boat and Air (Transport to Rottnest Island) There are loads of things to do here! Tours that you can sign up with, snorkel, kayak, or you could choose to rent some bikes and ride around the island!
The last choice is what Traveller J, Traveller C and I did when we were there! There's a nice thrill to be able to venture around by yourself and do everything at your own pace! We cycled around the island, stopped for food, wonderful views, picture taking around the beautiful bays and beaches and lazying around in the greenery! Look out for Quookkas too, which are small little furry animals you would see randomly walking around- if you're luck. They're soo cute! You'll be able to purchase tickets as well as to go to the lighthouse tour! It's around $9 for an adult. Do note that it's only from 11 am to 2.30 pm each day, so check up with the visitor center for availability.
Here's a few pictures from our bike journey!
Day 6: Swan Valley
Ahh! This is one definite trip you need to make if you're in Perth! It's only around a 25 minutes drive from Perth's CBD. Choose a beautiful day to drive to Swan Valley and enjoy wine tasting, chocolates, cheese tasting and other things! Have a nice relaxing lunch at a beautiful winery. I suggest Sittella Winery Cafe and Restaurant (Link). This is the one and only place I choose to have my lunch/Brunch every time I'm at Swan Valley! At times it can be quite full, so to be certain you can book a table! Its reasonably priced, has quite a variety on their menu and its delicious!
Wineries
If you do not want to head down to Margaret River, You can get a taste of it from Swan Valley! There's quite a lot to do here! Remember to grab a map for Swan Valley from the airport, or visitor centre! It usually shows all the attractions/ wineries to go in Swan Valley.
When I do go to Swan Valley, I visit just one or two wineries(not too much of a wine fan), cheese tasting, the Margaret River Chocolate factory and to buy some Honey!
Here are the 3 wineries I usually visit:
1. Sitella Winery & Restaurant (Link)
2. Lancaster Wines (Link)
3. Windy Creek Estate (Link)
Honey
My last trip few months back, I bought heaps of honey from Swan Valley! I'm sure everyone has heard of Manuka Honey as it's one of the most widely sold honeys in the supermarkets and etc. However, in Western Australia, the most popular honey is the Jarrah Honey. Some say that it is just as good or better than Manuka honey. It has been popular for its medicinal and high antimicrobial activity! It's also not very sweet, thus suitable for people who can't take as much sugar. I usually get Manuka Honey in Asia as Jarrah honey is not sold here. That's why i bought so many bottles back- and it's only around $15 -$16 a bottle for 500g. It has activity levels of 20(TA20)
I'm pretty sureee it works! I never got sick in Perth while I was studying there and I drank heaps.. so I don't know if it's coincidence or not! But, if you are in Perth do try out their Jarrah Honey!
Here's 2 stores where I usually get my honey from!:
1.Windarrah Honey (Link) Add: 5 George St, West Swan, WA 6055
2. House of Honey (Link) Add: 867 Great Northern Highway (Corner of River Road), Herne Hill, WA6056
Margaret River Chocolate Factory
Add: 5123 West Swan Road, West Swan, WA 6055
Margaret River Chocolate Factory (Link) is a definite stop you need to make if you're a chocolate lover! Actually there's a store in Perth(not sure if its smaller-never been!), however, since you're at Swan Valley, why not! There are loads of different kinds of chocolates-dark, milk, white, truffles etc!! There's also 3 huge bowls of little chocolate drops that they allow you to take as much as you want for tasting or while you browse!:D YUM!
Mondo Nougat and Morish Nuts
Add: 640 Great Northern Highway, Herne Hill, Western Australia 6056
Mondo Nougat (Link) has different sorts of delicious Nougats! I absolutely love their Cranberry and Pistachio Soft Nougat!
Next to it, is Morish Nuts (Link). This place has all sorts of nuts and you'll be able to have samples of them. I love their plain, Wasabi and truffle flavour macadamia nuts! I think it's cheaper than buying it in the city!
Day 7:
Update: The Zoo/ Caversham Wildlife Park
If you still can't get enough of the wildlife yet, do drop by the Perth Zoo (Link) or the Caversham Wildlife Park! (Link) I haven't been to the zoo in ages, however I did recently spend a great time at the Caversham Wildlife Park! Here you're able to meet the koalas and feed the kangaroos and etc up close! Prices are $25 for an adult and $11 for a child!
That's all for this post!

I'll be posting about Busselton and Margaret River in my next post! As well as all the best restaurants/cafes that I personally love to go in Perth as well. Pls Stay tuned!:) XOXO
