PERTH- PART 2- ROAD TRIPS- BUSSELTON, MARGARET RIVER

Jetty by the bay
PERTH (Continuation from previous post)

-Busselton
Accomodation
Busselton is a short drive away from the city and we usually stop by Busselton before going to Margaret river! It's a wonderful place for a short getaway!
I came here a few times. Once was with my friends Traveller S and Traveller CY.  It was our end of university trip and we sure had loads of fun! We stayed at Siesta Park Holiday Resort (Link) and were just beach bums. As our villa at Siesta Park Holiday Resort was just right by the beach and waters, our daily itinerary was beach- eat-beach-eat then movies in our room! How awesome! I would recommend this place if you really want to chill by the waters as its reallly near-(But, in my opinion still not as pretty as the big beautiful oceans!) However, it's abit on the small side, or maybe you could book one with more rooms.

Entrance area with beds
Another time I went with Traveller J, we decided to try another hotel, and ended up at Beachlands Holiday Resort (Link). It was awesome! The rooms were really clean and spacey. We could cook up a feast!:D. Only downside was that the beach was not as close as Siesta park, however, a walkable distance!:D Such Fun! There was an area which had this huge jumping pillow and a play area! Traveller J and I had such fun jumping on this pillow! tehee!

Busselton Jetty
There's no dispute that this is THE place to go if  you come to busselton! The Busselton jetty wasn't ready a few years back, however last year when Traveller and I went, it was ready!!!!
Busselton Jetty is a jetty which extends 1.8km across the Geographe Bay (Busselton Jetty) I think you're able to take a train out there, but when we went, the train wasn't going out as the weather wasn't as great. The jetty day pass is $3 for an adult. Check out their website for more prices. (Busselton Jetty) However, Thank God we still could walk alll the way to the end!!! Congratulations to me- the least athletic person ever! Traveller J had to bug me to walk that length and was I glad! It was so windy but definitely fun! There was a section that there weren't any barriers, so that could get a bit scary! There were thick clouds that day and phew~ only towards the end it started raining!

Path to the Busselton Jetty
We wanted to visit Wonky Windmill Farm and Eco Park, however due to time and weather constraints we ended up not going there!- Maybe next time!

-Margaret River

There's quite a lot to do at Margaret River, remember to stop by the tourist center and get a map and brochures of what to do, see and eat at Margaret River. (Margaret river) I've been to Margaret river quite a few times and have enjoyed every road trip here!

Accomodation:
I highly recommend this accommodation, although check out stayz.com.au as well and other hotels around the area!.

1. Bussels Bushland Cottages (Bussels Bushland)
Simply amazing, peaceful and clean cottages! This was superbly fun! We had a 2 bedroom at that time and everything was new inside as well! Quite a few years back, but am sure it'll still be awesome! There are kangaroos roaming around as well!!!!!!! Probably don't get too close to them, but we peered at them from our backyard!! Simply amazzzzing experience!

Living/Dining/Kitchen area
Entrance with barbecue pitt and outdoor dining!
Kangaroo upclose nearby the property!

Attractions:
1. Cape Leeuwin Light house
This is an awesome landmark which stands at a point where the Indian and Southern Oceans meet! Take the short tour up the lighthouse when you're there! Prices are here:- (Link) The surrounding oceans and views are just simply magnificent as well!

Lighthouse!
View of the ocean from nearby the Lighthouse

2. Caves
There are 3 caves at Margaret river and so far I've been to 2..  There's the Jewel Cave, Lake Cave and Mammoth cave. If you like to see caves and all you probably could go to all 3.. However, to me, 1 or 2 is more than enough:P Grab the audio guide for a tour around! Prices are here:- (Link)

 3. Whale Watching (Link)
What's a roadtrip without Whale Watching, or simply the experience having your hair blown all ways, or having sea sickness out in the sea to see some awesome whales to a flip!:D I had such fun on this trip, although we didn't get to see whales reallllly close up, but only in a far distance.. Still really worth it though!

4. Kayaking
THIS WAS EXTREMELY FUN!!!! But.. TIRING!! We kayaked a massive round the river- and I must say I realized I was superbly unfit after this. We were all massively sun burnt and achy all over from top to bottom! Was it worth it?- Definitely an experience!!:D:D The waters were calm and scenery very relaxing.. Would be a better idea to do a double Kayak with a person more fit than yourself! :P

 5. Wonderful Beaches

Take a drive to the beaches, bays around Margaret river and soak your toes in the sand and water! Do whatever you wish:D:D

6. Chocolate Factory, Cheese Factory, Yahava Coffee etc
There's one in Swan Valley, but if you're in Margaret river, come to the original!:D (Margaret River Chocolate Factory)

-The coffee at Yahava Koffee is really good as well! (Link)

-Check out the Nuts, cheese factories, and other home made jams, honey, there too!:D

7. Last but not least.. WINERIES
We are in the winery region after all! Take your pick from the bunch of awesome places to go in the map!:
My favourite wineries are the following!:
- Xanadu (Link) (My favourite sweet wine- which is why this is on the first of my list:D)
- Leeuwin Estate Winery (Link)
- Blackwood Meadery (Link) (I really really love the mead at Blackwood Meadery! It's a small shop, but very awesome and friendly owner as well!)
-Watershed Premium Wines (Link)
-Voyager Estate (Link) (This is an extremely beautiful estate!- Love taking pictures here;)- and not forgetting their wines!;))
- Cape Lavender (Link)

Alright! Thats all for my post for Busselton and Margaret River! Hope its informative enough- I might update it again if I missed out anything! Here's 2 pictures of our awesomely delicious lunch at Xanadu Winery to end this post! ENJOY!!:D
